New OLF module, released from SF

Yes, that’s correct—my new OLF module is ready for consumption. What’s OLF? Well it stands for “outgoing links filter” and this module is a simple filter that finds all outgoing links (e.g., links that point to external websites relative to your website) and allows you to add a customizable class to these links. From there, you can easily add some CSS magic to add in icons or attach some unobtrusive JavaScript.

So why do that? Well it’s a method for making more accessible links. And plus, opening a new window to show that you are leaving the site is just super annoying—an icon is far more unobtrusive.

Menu bar 2.0, released from Belgium!

A little less than one month ago, I released version 1.0 of my Drupal admin menu bar.

Today, here at EuroOSCON 2006 in Belgium, I am pleased to announce that version 2.0 of Menu bar for Drupal is now out—a full blown module, fully contained, no more theming hacks necessary :-)

So what’s new? Here’s a short list:

  • Self contained module that can be turned on and off
  • Access permissions for viewing the entire menu

Sushi Go-Round, from London

Here’s a great movie Matt put together, capturing the sushi conveyor at Itsu, the place I mentioned in a previous post.

Live from London

Whew! Yeah so I was going to try and do daily updates from London, but boy, that has not worked out like I had planned. Been extremely busy over the past few days, working all day and then either hopping right into happy hour or burning the midnight oil (like last night).

London… wow, what a fabulous city! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get out here, I absolutely love it. Over the past few days I’ve seen some of the most amazing European cars and eaten some of the best food ever. I’ve already seen 2 Lamborghini Gallardos, 3 Ferrari 430s, 2 Aston Martins, including one with this unique reflective metallic paint that could look gold or purple depending upon the angle, and countess Porsche 911 turbos, along with a BMW Z8 hardtop parked on the street last night. Crazy!

Going to London tomorrow!

That’s right, I’m going to London tomorrow! We’ve just landed a killer project at Lullabot. So killer in fact, we had to sign an NDA, so I can’t even tell anyone what we’re actually doing out there!

But I can tell you I’ll be staying at this swank hotel, apparently right in the heart of the city. And on Monday night we have tickets to the CobraVision Awards, along with VIP tickets to the after party. And there are a few other amazing events too, but I can’t mention those just yet.
