I’ve always been a huge fan of whole grains (e.g., wheat bread) because foods like these are not as processed as their counterparts (e.g., white bread). The reasoning behind this is because the whole grains have to be refined to make white bread, not the other way around. During this refinement a lot of the great nutrients are refined out, leaving you with something that is considerably less nutrient rich.

You have a great point. Although many people have heard this statement time and time again, many just don’t get it or simply choose to ignore it. I was one of them up until I was forced to change my eating habits for health reasons. Once I made the change and started avoiding junk foods, etc. and really watched what I eat, I started to feel better – much better! It truly is a reality in that you are what you eat!
Great aritcle and very true. We are exactly what we eat. If a consistent diet of junk food is practiced, this has a major impact on all areas of our bodies. As you sate above, both physically and mentally. Just making a few minor changes, even the suggestions above, can have a very big impact on our bodies!
