OpenDNS for your Nintendo Wii!

In a previous post, I mentioned that I am a fan of OpenDNS—-it has sped up the loading of websites through DNS lookups and it catches typos and reroutes me to the correct website.

Well I just found out that OpenDNS works on the Nintendo Wii how cool! Easy to configure and seems like things are running a tad faster.

There is a problem with using OpenDNS on a Wii. All Wi-Fi- enabled games stop working if Wii is using OpenDNS. The Wii channels (Weather, News , the browser) will work, but not the games. Disable OpenDNS – and the games come back. Not sure why it is – looks like somebody added the Nintendo Wii gaming servers to a wrong category on OPenDNS
