Great Show at the 9:30 Club

Wow what a great show at the 9:30 club last night! Anberlin was incredible live, totally unexepected how much energy they would have live. The Fold was great too, they remind me a lot of Acceptance, one of my favorite bands. I was a bit disappointed by Emery though, I felt their performance was just mediocre, hearing them on my iPod was equally exhilirating.

On a related note, in between sets, I was downstairs in the bar waiting for some friends when I started chatting with the bar manager for the 930 club. What a very nice and knowledgeable lady! Turns out, they were out of one of my favorite beers, Dog Fish Head Midas. The bar manager heard my expressed disappointement and told me that the Midas is usually available in limited quanities and the 930 club is one of the few bars in the country that actually has it on tap! How cool! She recommended I try their 60 min IPA, which was a super hoppy and delicious beer, where they add hops every minute for an hour. Excellent beer. She also bought me an Aprihop on the house (thanks!) which was quite good. But not as good as the Midas nor the 60 min IPA, in my opinion.

She also mentioned that Dog Fish Head gives great brewery tours so if you’re ever in Deleware, to stop by! Apparently they are right on the beach, so that might be a great trip. Mmm… the beach.
